Spinach dip is a classic holiday or gathering appetizer, and it’s a crowd pleaser! This dip is creamy, simple, but also full of so much flavor. Give it a try today!

Hot Spinach Dip Recipe

I, like most people, LOVE a hot, cheesy dip when I am attending a party. You can’t go wrong with having some sort of spinach dip if you’re hosting a holiday gathering, or if you need a delicious appetizer to bring along. This cheesy dip is a favorite among my Caramelized Bacon & Dates with Goat Cheese, and my Pretzel Bites & Beer Cheese dips. Everyone loves a cheesy dip! Spinach dip is a very classic recipe, with delicious, and simple ingredients. It’s one of my favorites, and you can’t go wrong!

Ingredients You'll need For Baked Spinach Dip

  • Spinach
  • Sharp White Cheddar Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Cream Cheese
  • Sour Cream
  • Butter, salted
  • Lemon juice
  • Milk
  • Garlic
  • Shallot
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Kosher salt and black pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder

How to make Baked Spinach Dip

As fancy as this sounds, it’s actually simple! This recipe does take a long amount of time, as it’s cooked very low and slow in olive oil. The garlic and tomato is cooked for two hours in olive oil, and then blended to make a silky smooth, delicious sauce.

step 1:

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. In an skillet with butter, sauté the garlic and the shallot for a few minutes. Add the spinach, and cook over medium heat until completely wilted, about 5-7 minutes.

step 2:

In a large bowl, add the shredded white cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, seasonings, and mix well. Next add the milk, to give it a lighter consistency. Add the spinach in once done cooking.

step 3:

Add the dip to an oven-safe dish, and top with more white cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese. Bake for 20 minutes, then broil for 3-5 minutes, letting it bubble and brown. Serve warm and enjoy with pita chips or bread!

Tips for Baked Spinach Dip

  • Spinach: I use fresh spinach, but some recipes call for frozen spinach. You can use frozen spinach, thaw it, and then squeeze out the extra water to be sure the dip doesn’t get too watery.
  • Cheeses: this recipe is best when the cheese is freshly grated or shaved! Pre-shredded cheese can be a little too chunky, but it does help save time.
  • Prep: you can make this dish ahead of time, and pop it in the oven right before you want to serve it!
  • Milk: you can omit the milk if you’d like but it does add extra creaminess to the dish.
